Incoming correspondence from Commissioner of General Land Office, Secretary of U.S. Treasury and Surveyor General primrily concerns receipts of accounts of land sold at Palestine, military land warrants, selection of school land, preemption claims, delivery of patents, corrections in plats and surveys and general operations of district office. Also included are circulars from General Land Office and Treasury Department, August 1833-August 1854. After August 14, 1855, correspondence concerns land in Palestine District which was received by Springfield Land District Office.
